Our Commitment
SmartCalc is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. The following measures are in place:
- All form inputs have associated labels
- Color is not used as the only means of conveying information — results include text labels alongside color indicators
- Interactive elements have visible focus indicators
- The application can be navigated using a keyboard alone
- Text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against backgrounds for normal text
- Charts include text-based results alongside visual representations
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas that may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA at this time:
- Chart components (Recharts) may not expose all data through accessible ARIA attributes. All key numerical results are presented in text form as well.
- Some complex interactive charts may not be fully operable by screen reader users. We provide the same information in text-based result cards.
Technical Specifications
SmartCalc relies on the following technologies for conformance:
- HTML5
- CSS (Tailwind CSS)
- JavaScript (React / TypeScript)
- WAI-ARIA attributes where applicable
Feedback & Contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of SmartCalc. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know via our Contact Us page. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.
Assessment Approach
SmartCalc assesses accessibility through self-evaluation and manual testing. We plan to incorporate formal third-party audits as the application grows.
